Ms. Greene’s 4th grade class had fun planting a garden this morning!
Greg Buice, our School Food & Nutrition Director, joined students as they learned what plants need to grow and thrive and explored companion planting. For some, it was their first time planting vegetables, and they were excited to get started.
Students planted tomatoes, peas, yellow squash, and potatoes, and we can’t wait to see what grows! Produce from the garden will be used in classrooms and the cafeteria to highlight the taste and nutritional benefits of homegrown vegetables.
Thank you to Shirley Feed and Seed for donating the soil and mulch to support this project!
